Qui-Gon Jinn was born in 80 BBY on the planet of Coruscant until his death on Naboo at the hands of Darth Maul in 32 BBY. He lived during the last days of the Republic Era and was a wise, well respected member of the Jedi Order. Offered a seat in the Jedi Council though he rejected it in favor of going his own path and centered his life around the philosophy of the Living Force. The wise man strives to follow the will of the Force even if it conflicted with the wishes of the Jedi High Council. Jinn was the Jedi who found Anakin Skywalker and brought him back to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant saying that this boy was the Chosen One. In his final words to his Padawan Obi-Wan Kenboi, he wished for the boy to be trained and restore balance to the Force.
Qui-Gon Jinn learned the ways of the Force throughout his time as the Padawan of Jedi Master Dooku before becoming a Jedi Knight around 58 BBY. Though in 44 BBY, he would take on his own apprentice, who went by Obi-Wan Kenobi. Sometimes their relationship was strained as Kenobi followed the principles of the Jedi Code more strictly than his master did. Though during their mission to Pijal, Jinn turned down the offer to join the Jedi Council in favor of continuing to mentor his apprentice. In 32 BBY when the Trade Federation made a blockade on Naboo, the duo were deployed to resolve the issue. Though despite their efforts, the Federation launched an invasion of Naboo forcing the Jedi to save Queen Amidala.
On their journey to Coruscant, they were forced to land on the planet of Tatooine where Qui-Gon Jinn met a boy named Anakin Skywalker. Using a tool he calculated Skywalker's midi-cholorian count to be the highest in Jedi history, even higher than Grand Master Yoda's. When Jinn learned that Anakin Skywalker was born to a mother with no father, it confirmed his belief that this boy was the Chosen One, the one that would restore balance to the Force. Though before their departure off the planet the group had an encounter with the Sith Lord Darth Maul in which informed Jinn that the Sith had returned once again, after around a millennium of silence.
When Qui-Gon Jinn returned to the Jedi Temple in Coruscant, he was quite convinced that the boy was the Chosen One. This status led him to believe that Skywalker should be allowed into the Jedi Order. Though after examining the boy the Jedi High Council deemed Skywalker as "too old" and "emotional, dangerously full of fear and anger". Jinn only saw this as a short setback, though had other problems to deal with. The issue going on with Queen Amidala's home world, Naboo forced Jinn to put aside his wishes and plans for Skywalker. Though during the Battle of Naboo, Jinn and Kenobi are confronted by the Sith Lord Darth Maul once more again. During the encounter Jinn and Kenobi worked together to fight the Sith Lord and his attacks. Though as they battle wore on they were separated in which the young Dathomirian Sith Lord took advantage of the fatigued Qui-Gon Jinn, piercing the red blade through his chest. In rage, Kenobi was able to slice the Sith Lord Darth Maul and rushed to his master's side where Jinn's last words were spoken. With no hope of survivial for Qui-Gon Jinn he made Obi-Wan Kenobi promise to take Skywalker as his apprentice. Having Kenobi promise and word, Qui-Gon Jinn became one with the Force certain that he had found the Chosen One, the one woh would bring peace and balance to the Force.
